I’m not having a good day.

The headache is still here, and I feel a bit crappy. Then I cut my finger while I was washing up and I bled for ages. Grr. When was my last tetanus jab? ‘97?
So, is this just a headache or am I finally slipping into diabetes? (it’s a risk with my family). Maybe I should [...]

So, the ‘faces of Egypt’ gets some links to it..

And I had a chuckle and a half.
Someone is posting it on an Afrocentric discussion board. It is almost embarrasingly 90% caucasian, Mr Mathilda callls it ‘the wall of white’. The brutal truth is that there are virtually no painted statues that look convincingly black. All of the statues I could find are painted with [...]

Is there any such thing as a funny clown?

Okay, Hershel Krustovsky aside.
We took the kids to see the circus yesterday evening. It was a nice walk to the field, warm but breezy. For once the field along halfway wasn’t marshland or terracotta with hay stuck in it. Everything green and alive.
I don’t like the circus… it bores me silly. I have to think of [...]

There are no bridges to afrocentric racsim.

There’s a rather hilarious youtube vid called ‘hanging in the hair’, that essentially claims that the hair measurements of ancient Egyptians are just the same as black… but the only ‘black’ population they could get close too the Egyptian measurement was the Tasmanians… not many of them in Africa.

It’s basic premise [...]

See no white people…

So, a different black guy I’m arguing with sent me an email, which was pretty dull except for the quote..
The Garamantes was not mentioned in your mess which is why I choose not to go to the sites youve mentioned.
I’d given him a list of info that showed the ancient Libyans as white; pictures of them [...]

Posted on July 18, 2008. Filed under: diary entry | Tags: , , , , |

So, the blog breaks 20,000 hits.

Posted on July 17, 2008. Filed under: diary entry | Tags: , , , |

It averages about 300 hits a day, which isn’t bad for a science site.
I’vestill been having fun with Afocentrists.. I know it’s childish.
One of the favorite things thier videos and sites do is to mildly alter the images. Commonly, you’ll see images of Nubians, carefully cropped so you couldn’t see the Egyptian behind them whupping [...]

As a form of stress relief I have been trolling…

Afrocentrists again. Because I’ve beeen through the wringer a bit and really needed someone to pick on. Childish I know…
So, I’ve been haunting ‘The Moors were never black’ which is a bit innacurate, as some of them were, but it was more for the purposes of poniting out big fat lies told in public forums.
The [...]

So, I watched an episode of ‘tribal wife’ on BBC2

Featuring the Himba. And very interesting it was. HR sure loved it. For a seven year old she asks some prety sharp questions. She loves looking at all the anthropology photos I have stashed. She’s a mini-me. Which is probably why we have such blazing rows.
Anyway, looking at the Himba men first I was thinking… ‘Jesus, [...]

So far for this year’s birthday (now Mathilda38!) I have a got a Jamie Oliver cook book, ‘Ray Mears wild food’, ‘Genome’ and ‘The anthropology of modern human teeth’. My friends know me so well.
The surprise gem was the Ray Mears book. I bought it as a simple ‘what wild stuff you can eat’ guide, [...]
