And finally back in the land of the living, and ‘love the Mentalist’.
What a godawful summer and autumn. It seemed like every other month we had some nasty virus flatten the whole household for a fortnight ( in turns). Still, It seems my ability to blog has now returned- my brain kind of turned off, a bummer since I have coursework to do now. MS makes recovery from viruses very [...]

I was a very unhappy parent for a while- he came down with a high fever on Thursday, and this went through to Monday morning, and finally its Tuesday afternoon and he’s almost back to a normal body temperature. So I can now start eating and sleeping again (stress).
It has not been a fun experience. Fortunately [...]
Boy have I missed a lot this month.
What with half term, me being sick and then the girl having an ear infection I haven’t had time to study lately. I’ve missed all the good bits and peices on the western desert DNA, latest study of Guanche DNA from Las Palma.
I have been doing some thinking into Afro Asaitic while I’ve been sunk [...]
General diary stuff.
I’m almost through with the collection Egyptian genetics page. One of the most interesting thing after digging through Luis’s 2004 study that I can hardly find any Y chr traceable to historical population movement- all the EurasianY chr (G, T, J) are showing up with a particularly huge time depth in Egypt, only j2 and R1b [...]

The first time I’ve got near the computer in a couple of days- I shudder to think how many comments I have waiting for me- I normally average about 20 a day and I haven’t been on MAB since Friday, so I’m expecting about 100 or more to wade through. I do try to respond to [...]

A vaguely depressing day. My hearts been messing about (I have a murmur as well as MS) and I’ve been a bit low on energy. Still, I’ve managed to do some gardening and cook dinner.
The girl’s being a bit of a nightmare today. She’s had two major hissy fits already, the last one being the [...]
Not blogging… reading up on proto Afro Asiatic
I had the weekend off from MAB as the husband is home. Mostly I’ve been ironing and cooking this weekend. For once my un-ironed pile is only a foot high. The flurry of domestic cleaning can only mean one thing, PMT. Other people yell, I do housework.
I did some reading into proto Afro Asiatic and I’ve spotted [...]
Had a laugh at some pseudo logic today and some Afro Asiatic reading.
While reading a Google book link. The reasoning was, even though absolutely no fossil remains or any remains of goats or sheep are found in Africa before the neolithic, the fact that several languages are theoretically dated to about 8/10k ago makes a good case for them actually being indigenous to Africa. Had a giggle.
Or, [...]
So that explains why I got so many hits on Gobekli Tepe
Looking at my blog stats for Sunday I had an unprecedented number of hits on my entry on Gobekli Tepe, over 500. Always curious, I decided to find out why. Five minutes later…the Sunday mail had a big article on it and people must have been looking it up on line. Case solved. However, I [...]

I’m having a ‘little dispute’ over my electric bill at the moment with British Gas. The tale is long and frustrating, but essentially they claim I’m owe them nearly a thousand quid, and that the last time I paid my bill was a year ago (which is bullshit). They also told me I’ve never paid [...]
